“Raw Organic Perfect Food Green Superfood” by Garden of Life is the best overall. *

Pros

  • Third-party verified
  • There are no additional sweeteners.
  • organic and vegan

Cons

  • Not wheat-free
  • Some substances might not be suitable for everyone.

The Garden of Life Raw Organic has been voluntarily evaluated and authorized by ConsumerLab’s Quality Certification Program. In addition to the greens, Perfect Food Green Superfood contains a variety of fruits, vegetables, sprouted grains, and seeds.

Aeran Kerie

It contains 70% of the daily value for vitamin K, 35% of the daily value for vitamin A, 10% of the daily value for riboflavin, and 2% to 8% of the daily value for calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, and potassium.

While the large ingredient list may indicate extra advantages beyond those provided by other greens powders, it is critical to thoroughly analyze all components, especially if you are taking prescription drugs or have a food allergy.

This greens powder is especially strong in vitamin K (about 70% of the R.D.A.), which can be advantageous for some people but may constitute a concern for those taking certain medications. Blood thinners, cholesterol medicines, and even some antibiotics can all interact with vitamin K.

It also contains digestive enzymes, so if you have any digestive issues, consult with your doctor to see if these ingredients will worsen your symptoms. Certain digestive enzymes can aid with digestive issues, but the enzyme(s) must be matched to the illness, and they are unlikely to benefit people with good health.

It also contains two Lactobacillus probiotics that may aid in the relief of some digestive disorders, as well as one Lactobacillus strain that may aid in the prevention of foodborne illness.

“Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Greens” by Natural Whole Nutrition*

Pros

  • The organic, straightforward ingredient list
  • It has 14 grams of protein.
  • There are no additional sweeteners.

Cons

  • Large portion size
  • I’m not a vegetarian.

This greens powder has a simple ingredient list that includes collagen peptides, dehydrated greens, hyaluronic acid, and a small dose of probiotics. It has coconut water powder and vanilla bean powder as flavors.

Aeran Kerie

While research on the advantages of oral collagen supplementation is conflicting, there is some indication that collagen peptides may enhance skin suppleness.

Collagen, on the other hand, can be a fantastic source of protein—this powder has 14 grams which can be used as a protein powder in your morning smoothie.

Hyaluronic acid is also found in Vital Proteins and is thought to increase skin suppleness and decrease wrinkles. While the evidence is limited, one randomized controlled trial found that oral hyaluronic acid can reduce wrinkle growth and enhance the skin.

While this Vital Proteins product has not been third-party tested, the company is known for its high-quality protein powders and careful ingredient sourcing.

“Organic Fermented Greens Powder” by Dr. Mercola*

Pros

  • Third-party verification
  • Small portion size
  • This product contains fermented greens.

Cons

  • Stevia and monk fruit are present.
  • It contains moringa and caffeine, which may not be suitable for everyone.
Aeran Kerie

The fermented greens powder by Dr. Mercola is made up of fermented grasses, greens, vegetables, herbs, and algae, including chlorella and spirulina.

Fermenting fruits, vegetables, and other foods may improve the body’s ability to utilize and benefit from the antioxidants included in those foods. Both spirulina and algae have been demonstrated to provide a variety of health benefits, including cholesterol and blood pressure reduction.

This greens powder contains caffeine-containing yerba mate and matcha. If you are caffeine sensitive, pregnant, or using a prescription that may interact with caffeine, you should avoid this product.

It also contains moringa, a plant that can impact how drugs are broken down in the liver, particularly thyroid and diabetic treatments. If you are on any drugs, consult with your doctor before using this product.

Dr. Mercola’s fermented greens powder does not contain container sugar. However, no-calorie natural sweeteners, monk fruit, and stevia can help cut some of the powder’s grassy or bitter qualities. These substances, however, have distinct flavors that you may or may not love. The F.D.A. considers these substances to be generally recognized as safe (GRAS), but little is known about their effects on our health.

“Grass Greens Blend” is the Best Gluten-free by Amazing Grass *

Pros

  • Third-party verification
  • Gluten-free with algae
  • less expensive than other full-price options

Cons

  • It contains prebiotics, probiotics, and digestive enzymes, which may not be suitable for everyone.
  • It contains rosehip, which may not be suitable for everyone.
Aeran Kerie

Amazing Grass Greens Blend is another third-party tested product that offers a blend of fruits, vegetables, grasses, prebiotics, probiotics, and digestive enzymes.

The fruit and vegetable mix contains the same amount of vitamins and minerals as two servings of produce. This will help you meet the daily requirement of what adults should consume.

However, two servings of whole produce are often greater in fiber than this powder, which has three grams.

This blend also contains two forms of algae, spirulina, and chlorella, which have a variety of possible health advantages, including a lower chance of developing several chronic diseases.

Amazing grass includes rosehips, which may interact with antacids, estrogens, lithium, and blood clotting medicines. Prebiotics (F.O.S.) and probiotics may be beneficial for some but may cause digestive discomfort in others, particularly those with pre-existing digestive diseases.

“Sport Greens” High-Performance Superfood by Biosteel *

Pro

  • Sport N.S.F. certified pros
  • Vegan and free of numerous allergies
  • Fruit and vegetable mixture

Cons

  • Stevia and inulin are present.
Aeran Kerie

It is critical that you select a product that has been third-party tested if you are a competitive athlete for any compounds prohibited by your sport. N.S.F. International Certified for Sport criteria is met by Biosteel Sport Greens powder.

According to some studies, fruit and vegetable juices and concentrates may aid in muscle rehabilitation. In addition, there have been particular studies linking tart cherry, a component in this blend, with exercise recovery.

The product promotes an amino acid complex to aid in sports recovery. However, research on the effects of l-glutamine and l-leucine supplementation on workout recovery is inconsistent, and the benefits are minor if they exist at all.

Biosteel Sport Greens is gluten-free, soy-free, dairy-free, non-GMO, and vegan. And it is free of any artificial flavors or colors, making it an excellent choice for anyone with special dietary needs. It does include inulin, which can be beneficial to some people’s digestion but harmful to others.

“Show Me the Greens” by K.O.S. *

Pros

  • Iron-rich source.
  • Organic, non-GMO, and manufactured in an NSF-approved facility
  • Algae is present.

Cons

  • Not subjected to third-party testing.
  • Green Apple flavor may not be appealing to everyone.
Aeran Kerie

Try K.O.S. ‘s green apple sorbet flavored powder if you’re seeking an organic and flavored greens powder. It’s sweetened with monk fruit and stevia, which keeps the calorie count low while yet adding sweetness.

Although not third-party tested, this product is USDA organic, non-GMO, and manufactured in an NSF-certified facility.

This food also contains 2 grams of fiber and provides 3 milligrams of iron per serving. Iron is a must for the production of hemoglobin, which aids in the transfer of oxygen throughout the body. Getting enough iron in your diet might also help minimize your chances of developing anemia.

K.O.S. contains wheat grass, cabbage, kale, broccoli, apple, and green bell pepper powders, in addition to the algae (spirulina and chlorella). Keep in mind that this powder contains a digestive prebiotic combination, and while it contributes to fiber content, it may not be appropriate for individuals with digestive issues.
